Teaching

The PhD student must acquire at least 12 Mandatory Credits by attending courses provided by the PhD program Veterinary and Breeding Sciences (VAS) and Softs Skills, provided by the University of Milan.

Mandatory credits

All PhD students are required to obtain at least 12 credits (CFU) by attending courses offered in the Course Catalogue of the University of Milan.

Specifically, the VAS PhD program has developed various courses taught by department professors to provide valuable skills related to the field of Veterinary and Animal Sciences, which are mandatory for the 39th and 40yh class:

Digital Imaging and Image Integrity in Scientific Publication: Guidelines and Standards in Basic, Veterinary and Animal Sciences (1st year)
Statistical Methods Applied To Epidemiology And Animal Sciences from theory to practice (1st year)
Omics Technique Applied To Veterinary and Animal Sciences (2st year)

PhD students enrolled in the 38th class must attend the following courses:

Cell and Tissue Culture: from Basic Principles to Advanced Technologies
Digital Imaging and Image Integrity in Scientific Publication
Empirical surveys and causal experiments in consumer research
Non-invasive biomarkes for the future research designs
Pathology of Laboratory Animals
Role of the multimodal imaging modalities in the pre-clinical animal model research
Statistical Methods Applied to Epidemiology and Animal Sciences
The Animal Microbiome: Basic Concepts for Veterinary Medicine and Animal Productions
The future of mesenchymal stem cells: lessons from the past and interpretations of the present

Students can also enrich their education by following other PhD Courses within the PhD program and those listed in the “PhD courses list” section.

Soft skills

Furthermore, PhD students are also required to attend courses related to soft skills organized by the University of Milan, totaling 72 hours to be completed within the three years of the PhD program.

Registration for the course

To register for the course, the PhD student has to registration service using the UNIMI name and password.
The deadline for registration is usually scheduled for the 25th day before the month of the course starts.
