PhD Course in Veterinary and Animal Science
The PhD program in Veterinary and Animal Sciences offers a research-oriented study degree. Our program prepares the doctoral student for a career as a scholar and researcher, able to work both in the academic and industrial fields within the veterinary and animal science area and the biotechnological disciplines related to them. The PhD course has a duration of three years. Each student is placed in an individual research program consistent with the doctorate’s topics under supervisor and co-supervisor guidance. The students will also have to take courses provided by the University of Milan, seminars, and workshops to contribute to their professional and scientific training. The PhD program also involves for each research project a period of study and research for at least three months in an international research group, in line with the strategic objectives of the University
Researchers and professors support the research and teaching activity, mostly part of the Department of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Sciences (DIVAS).
The individual research program is finalized with the writing of the thesis. Candidates for the program are selected following a comparative competition.
