Understanding the strengths and limitations of Omics technologies is critical to select the appropriate analyses and interpreting the results obtained.
The course aims to introduce the application of Omics technologies, including proteomics, metabolomics and lipidomics, transcriptomics, and microbiomics. The Ph.D. students will learn to select and apply the right Omics technology fitting to their experimental design, including their strengths and limitations. The course will describe the principle behind each Omic technique, the underlying experimental strategies behind the methods, and how to assess the robustness of the Omic data. Each class is followed by elective flip seminars that each Ph.D. student will select following her/his research topic and interest.
