Dottorati PON – Bando 2021 – Ciclo 37 (XXXVII) – DM 1061 del 10 agosto 2021
Azione IV.4 – Dottorati e contratti di ricerca su tematiche dell’innovazione
Azione IV.5 – Dottorati su tematiche Green
The project aims to evaluate the inclusion of Tenebrio molitorin the diet of weaning piglets. Secondly, functional, innovative insect meals willbe developed considering different growth substrates.
The Early Stage Researcher (ESR) will determine the functional and nutritional characteristics of T. molitorthrough in vitro analysis. Specifically, it will also assess the anti-microbial and antioxidants properties
The ESR will subsequently identify the impact of a diet in vivo partially constituted by T. molitorfor pig feeding by considering the zootechnical performances through the evaluation of weight gain in different age groups, immune system status, and contribution to animal welfare.
The ESR will be registered at the University of Milan (UNIMI) under the supervision of Prof. Luciana Rossi. The experiments will be conducted at the Italian Cricket Farm S.r.l. Headquarters at the University of Milan and zootechnical farms.
