The aim of the project is quantification of drug utilization and evaluation of antibiotic resistance in microorganisms isolated from milk and environment in conventional and organic farms.
Determine impact of antibiotic use and management practices on the prevalence of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases (ESBLs)-producing- E. coli and -Klebsiella spp. in dairy farms.
A metagenomic DNA sequencing based study on effect of antibiotic use and management practices on microbial resistance and resistome profiles in dairy farms
The research will involve secondments to IBBA/CNR lab IN Lodi under the supervision of Dr. Paola Cremonesi and Dr. Bianca Castiglioni.
